Curious about Functional Lab testing?
-
Absolutely not!
-
Often, YES!
*If financially feasible.
Functional Lab tests can get expensive and I am not a provider that is going to recommend everyone spend hundreds on labs upfront. There is a ton of foundational health work that we can do together that is low to no cost. But if you need motivation or “answers” in order to make changes, functional testing is key. Functional labs can also really speed up healing. And time is money and chances are you have already spent a lot of time struggling. I will outline a few of the labs I do most often and you can determine which is right for you! And of course we can discuss them in more detail if we are working 1:1 together.

Testing allows for improved tailored interventions to get you feeling better faster. Without a lot of trial and error.
Testing helps us find the root cause of your symptoms instead of symptom management with random supplements or trialing elimination diets. Again allowing you to heal faster with less work and stress.
Lab testing can be motivating and validating. Seeing the imbalances on paper can be the driver that motivates you optimize your diet and lifestyle. Lab testing can validate that it is not all in your head, your body is giving you real signals that something is not right. And that validation feels so good after we have been told for years, “You are just fine.” All of this can provide yourself with understanding and incentive…again allowing you to heal faster.
What We Offer:
GI MAP Stool Test
-
The Gastrointestinal Microbial Assay Plus (GI-MAP®) is a comprehensive stool test used to get a deep understanding of your unique gut health. The test looks at your gastrointestinal microbiota DNA which is then interpreted to uncover root causes of your digestive, mental health, and autoimmune condition symptoms.
-
Markers include assessing levels of:
Commensal bacteria (we want these!)
Opportunistic bacteria, parasitic pathogens, yeast (we don’t want these!)
As well as many other digestive health markers!
I use these results, along with your symptoms, to guide you with diet, lifestyle, and targeted supplement recommendations.
Note: This is WAY more than a stool test you may have done at the doctor’s office that only tests for a limited number of acute infections and parasites.
-
People dealing with any of these conditions:
Digestive issues include constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating, reflux, increased food sensitivity, prolonged feeling of fullness after meals
Even if you have had a colonoscopy or stool test at the doctor’s office and they were normal, but you still have digestive symptoms - this is a great next step!
Mood imbalances like anxiety, depression, brain fog
People with any autoimmune condition like IBD or RA
Skin conditions like acne, rashes, eczema, psoriasis
People struggling with blood sugar imbalance or weight loss resistance

Wheat Zoomer
-
This test is useful to determine if a wheat or gluten elimination diet would be beneficial for you. This is a blood test that analyzes IgA, IgG, and IgE antibodies to gluten, non-gluten wheat peptides, celiac markers, and intestinal permeability indicators to detect hidden immune reactivity.
Everyone is recommending going gluten-free these days, but not every one needs to and for others a very strict elimination is necessary. This test helps determine your unique sensitivity to wheat and gluten.
-
Markers to assess for autoimmune reactions to gluten including celiac disease, skin conditions, and neurological issues like brain fog, fatigue, pain, and anxiety.
Markers that indicate future risk of developing celiac disease.
Multiple gliadin and glutenin peptide markers indicating gluten and wheat sensitivity.
Intestinal permeability markers to assess if additional targeted gut support would be beneficial.
-
Those with any of the following:
Digestive symptoms
Brain fog or fatigue
Frequent headaches
ADHD, anxiety, depression
A diagnosed or suspected or family history of autoimmune condition including Hashimoto's Thyroiditis
If you have family history of celiac disease
You suspect you may have trouble with gluten, but need data to commit to following a gluten free diet.
Not recommended if you are already adhering to a strict gluten free diet.
-
No, result interpretation is included in the price of the test. I will send you a video with a detailed interpretation of your results. Including any diet change recommendations, resources, and next steps if further testing is recommended.
If you would like further support on making diet changes and optimizing gut health you can schedule a 1:1 consultation anytime.

Foundational Bloodwork Panel
-
This is more than the routine blood work done at your doctor’s office. Routine blood work can rule out some medical conditions, but when they are “normal” and you don’t feel “normal”, just a little deeper look can be helpful. This blood panel can rule out easier things like nutrient deficiencies and blood sugar imbalances that could be behind your chronic fatigue, mental health struggles or weight loss resistance.
-
Over 60 lab markers that test for nutrient deficiencies, thyroid dysfunction, glucose imbalance, metabolic risk factors that contribute to fatigue and chronic unresolved symptoms.
-
If you have not had any blood work done with your doctor in 1+ years
If you have not had comprehensive blood work done in 1+ years or your routine labs with your doctor were “normal” but you don’t feel “normal”
If you have symptoms like: fatigue, depression, anxiety, brain fog, insomnia, family history of diabetes or heart disease, weight loss resistance, overweight
If you benefit from lab data to motivate your diet and lifestyle changes.
-
